Russian forces carried out a series of attacks on Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, killing one civilian and injuring two others, according to local authorities.
The strikes targeted multiple settlements, combining guided aerial bombs and drone attacks—part of Russia’s continued campaign against civilian areas far from the front line.
In the village of Zarichne, Russian forces dropped guided aerial bombs, destroying a private home and a non-residential building. The strike sparked a fire that further damaged the area. A 75-year-old woman was killed in the attack, while a 72-year-old man sustained injuries.
In a separate incident in Bilenke, a Russian drone hit a residential property. A 77-year-old man was injured as a result of the strike.
All victims are currently receiving necessary medical assistance, regional officials said.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported the attacks via Telegram, emphasizing the continued threat posed by Russian aerial assaults on civilian infrastructure.
Russia has increasingly relied on guided bombs and drones in recent months, targeting towns and villages across frontline regions. These attacks frequently result in civilian casualties and destruction of homes, underscoring what Ukrainian officials describe as a deliberate strategy of terror against the population.
